SmashUps™

SmashUps™ are fun, personalized digital greetings that call out your friends and family by their first name through the magic of video and animation. These highly customizable wishes might even let you pick the age, location or hobby of your recipient. Whether your SmashUp speaks, sings, scats or yodels, it’s sure to amaze someone special.

Original, Celebrity, Talking and Selfie SmashUps™ are all available with our membership!

After personalizing, you can share SmashUps™ to any service that you have installed on your device. From SMS to Snapchat to Facebook and Twitter, the choice is yours!

Please be sure you are signed in as a member of American Greetings in order to send a Celebrity SmashUp. Once you are signed in, please follow the directions below:

1. Choose the Celebrity SmashUp you wish to send.

2. Select the options on Step 1 through Step 4 to customize your SmashUp.

3. Click on the “Preview” button on the SmashUp to preview before sending.

4. Click on the “Send” button after finalizing any customization options to proceed to the next step.

Step 2 involves creating your personal message. You will see an area to customize your message. Once you have typed your message, you can adjust the font style, size, color, bold and/or italicize. Highlight the text and make the changes you desire. Or, you can set the changes you desire before beginning to type. Click the “Share or Send” button to continue and select how you would like to share your SmashUp. You can send your SmashUp via email, post it to Facebook or copy the link to the SmashUp to share wherever you like!

If you selected to “Send via Email,” you will proceed to Step 3, which will enable you to add the name and email address of the recipient and set the date for the SmashUp to be delivered. Here you can also select to add a digital gift that will be sent along with your SmashUp. Make your selections and click on the “Send Ecard” button to proceed to either the send confirmation page or the payment screen if you chose to add a gift.

Please be sure you are signed in as a member of American Greetings in order to send a Talking SmashUp. Once you are signed in, please follow the directions below:

1. Choose the Talking SmashUp you wish to send.
2. Type what you want the character to say in the box, or use the suggested message provided. There is a 300-character limit.
3. Click on the “Preview” button to hear the character speak your message.
4. Once you are satisfied with the message, click on the “Personalize & Send” button. You can then add an optional written message for your recipient that will be displayed underneath the card.
5. Select “Share or Send” and choose how you want to send your card.

Please be sure you are signed in as a member of American Greetings in order to send a Selfie SmashUp. Once you are signed in, please follow the directions below:

1. Choose the Selfie SmashUp you wish to send.
2. Upload your selfie by selecting “Upload Photo” and choosing the desired image from your pictures folder on your computer.
3. Type what you want your selfie to say into the text box or use the suggested messages provided. Additionally, members can use our AI messaging tool. There is a 300-character limit.
4. Select the voice you would like for your selfie from the drop-down list. Click “Preview” to listen to your message.
5. Select the “Personalize and Send” button after finalizing any customization options to proceed to the next step.
